CULTURE
The Castle Road is a historical and cultural
tour who invites you to visit the most representative fortresses in
the province, most of which are in the region of Vinalopó. These are
the castles of Banyeres de Mariola, Biar, Onil, Castalla, Villena, Sax, Petrer, Elda, Novelda, Elche
and Santa Pola.
The road of the Cid is another proposal of cultural
tourism that mimics the road of Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar
used in the Song of the Cid. It starts in Burgos
and passes through Banyeres de Mariola, Biar, Onil, Castalla, Villena, Sax, Petrer, Elda, Novelda, Elche and Santa Pola..
The oldest story emerges from the many archaeological sites in the area.
The MARQ is an innovative archaeological museum that reconstructs the
puzzle of the past thanks to the new technologies.
GASTRONOMY
The
tradition, our culture and our warm temperatures are the secret of many products of the Costa Blanca.
There are fruits like cherries Mountain, medlars of
Callosa d'En Sarria and table grapes of Vinalopó. Nougat of Jijona and Alicante or
spirits from Alicante, which include four Aboriginal spirits.
Alicante wines also have a special quality appellatio. The province is a traditional land of vineyards and the principals are
in the Vinalopó, Marine and Comtat. The quality of red wines, white,
pink, mistelas (sweet wine) have had numerous awards. Fondillón, made with Monastrell
grapes, is exclusive of Alicante and is one of the five "luxury wines" granted by the European Union.
Enjoy
many products of land and sea: Alcoy sweets tablets or dragees, chocolate of Vilajoyosa, prawns or shrimp from Denia, Guardamar del Segura where also grow the peppers (capsicum) and
grenades.
Enjoy a plate of rice. Try the Caldero (rice and fish) or arroz a banda (rice
with fish), crust rice with rabbit and snails or white beans and turnips. The interior of the province will introduce mountain
gazpacho or artichokes of the Vega Baja with their seal of quality.
A place to participate in the FESTIVITIES
The Costa Blanca is a place characterized by the originality of their
festivities.
There throughout the year, including the Moors and Christians of Villajoyosa, with its striking robes, swords and velvet clothes that adorn the streets of many cities.
They were declared of International Tourist Interest Alcoy and Villajoyosa with Bonfires of San Juan in Alicante, Elche Mistetri, or the International Contest of Habanera and Polyphony of Torrevieja.

parade of the Three Kings of Alcoy, the oldest in Spain, the feast of the Bous a la Mar in Denia, Fira de Tots Sants live Concentaina are other popular celebrations which were declared of
national interest. There are many more that are the remind of the history and life of its inhabitants.
